We LOVE our city. Louisville, KY: WE LOVE YOU!
DCE has been so lucky to be a part of some really wonderful events in 2016. Of course, we did production for SHERBY VI again this year, which was a total blast. Every year, it just gets better (be on the lookout Oaks Day 2017- Sherwood Avenue Louisville, KY). The organizers are serious about this party- they had Kentucky’s Largest Disco Ball there, Y’all!
Another gem was the Butchertown Jazz Fest at St. Joseph’s Church Picnic. Wow, were we blown away by the extreme talent this city has when it comes to THROWING DOWN. If you don’t know of a band called Shasta 5, do yourself a favor and get acquainted!!
Also, Seven Sense Festival on August 27th was just outstanding. We had a booth there and sponsored the stage inside The New Vintage. It was a (hot) blast chatting to everyone who stopped by, and the music was amazing. Truly something for everyone, and this is a free event!!! Go ahead on over to their Facebook page and give them a like, you won’t want to miss out on next year’s festival. Plus, the proceeds go to the Boy’s and Girl’s Haven. Please pass that tidbit of information on to the angry patron who came out of the bakery that morning as we were setting up, letting us know that she doesn’t support it. Guess we ruined donut day.
We have a few more events are on deck before the cold weather sets in, September and October are so much fun in our city!
September 16th: Haymarket Hootenanny downtown on East Main Street. This event is going to be MASSIVE! Come for the music as well as the food, arts, beverages, kid stuff, etc. This event will not disappoint.
September 17th: We’re back at St. Joseph Catholic Church again for the Butchertown Oktoberfest!!
October 15th: we are so proud to be the folks who are handling the sound system(s) & tunes for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation’s JDRF One Walk at Churchill Downs!
Of course, we are always proud to be a part of the private events, parties, corporate events and weddings that we do. I just thought I’d share a few fun ones with the kind folks of Louisville! See you out there!
Until next time!
